Step 2: Fill Out The State Application

There are two ways to do this:

The application fee paid to the state is $83.75. It will take 4-6 weeks on average for the state to process and approve your application. You can check the status of your application by clicking here. Take note that you must submit your fingerprints electronically before the application can be approved.

Step 3: Submit Your Fingerprints

Schedule your appointment with the state testing vendor, Pearson VUE. This can be done online or by calling (877) 238-8232. You can find Pearson VUE testing locations here. Please be advised that there is a $53.50 fingerprinting fee, paid to Pearson VUE.

Step 4: Pass The State Exam

Before you can take the exam, the state must approve your application for licensure. You must bring your completion slip with you to be permitted to test. To schedule your exam, contact Pearson VUE, the state testing vendor. The have have locations throughout the state. Please be advised that there is an exam fee of $36.75 paid to Pearson VUE. The exam contains 100 multiple choice questions. You must receive a passing score of 75% or better. If you fail the exam, you may retake it as many times as necessary, at at cost of $31.50 payable to Pearson VUE each time you retake the exam.
